Without a big rush to get out, we had a tasty breakfast in our room and packed at a leisurely rate, with a very silly TV movie running in the background. Last night we purchased a bag weighing device from one of the many ABC convenience stores and it turned out to be an instant winner. Given that we've bought a few clothes (particularly for the mini), it was a necessity to purchase this item.
We couldn't believe it....our shuttle actually came for us today! We were still really worried though given the recent 'no show' experiences. We had a little panic when we saw a shuttle from the same company that drove passed us....but luckily about 30 seconds later another one turned up for us.
Turning up considerably ahead of schedule, we opted for lunch within the terminal. The two sandwiches were actually really nice, but it was a pity that I (Tanya) snapped a porcelain veneer! OMG, how much bad luck can we possibly have? The veneer still sat in the mouth and really just needs to be re glued. Sorry for that people, but it pretty much stays in as long as I eat on the left side of my mouth! Crappy timing being away and nowhere near my dentist.
The flight to Maui was quick and they gave us a drink, which was a crap load more than what Jetstar gave us on an international flight! Curse you Jetstar. Within about 30 minutes of taking off we were within plain sight of the island and making our descent. It was cool looking out the window and spotting some whales on the way in. At least we knew that would still be likely to take a whale tour here.
Arriving with no issues and tooth in tact (for now), we were picked up and taken around to the car hire company. We are such suckers as we were talked into an upgrade to a convertible Mustang. Why not? This is the last conceivable holiday till at least September 2015, so it was time to make the most of it!
Driving on the other side is freaky!! We made it to our friend's restaurant from the airport, all safe and sound and ended up hanging out there for dinner and waiting till close to follow them home - yet not in a stalker type fashion. The house is massive. Matteo and Gianna live upstairs and have two separate units on the ground level under the house and another separate living unit/ house in the back. Our place is pretty cool, with a full kitchen and two bedrooms. We got in pretty late and we were knackered, so it was definitely wind down and sleep time!

Oh No Tanya, that is bad luck, hope the Dentist you find is a good one.
